This is part of what I've been working on finishing during the last few weeks, mainly research and then assembly (lacquer, truck/wheel attachment, testing, adjusting). I built this as a gift for my friend who lives in town but I have maintained a 6 foot distance from for almost a month now, so it's been a nice outlet to get this to her finally.
Typically I hate photographing things that I haven't staged or fully thought through and have never been particularly interested in documentary photography. Recently my boyfriend and I went fishing and instead of taking photos of the surroundings as I had planned I took these photos of him telling me about how he learned to fish (competitively? Apparently there is such thing as varsity fishing I had no idea).

Stunning imagery Rachel! Questions: What prompted this particular composition? Does the design reflect upon elements your relationship? Aspects of their personality? Some shared memory/history(s)...? I appreciate the intersection of the lines with the edges of the trucks-along with the topographical lines that seem to reference both, elevations & the grain of the wood. Can you post more images???
